Labour has always historically been for the working class. Unions were set up by Labour to support the working class and keep companies in check.

However, with Sir Kier Starmer's Labour government unemployment will surely rise given the rising costs of keeping people on the payroll. We are seeing a rebellion from the Trade Unions which now do not seem to support the government.

When the National Minimum wage increases every April, there are always cut backs from companies, some refuse to pay minimum wage, since 2024 there are 524 companies that have not paid minimum wage. and those that do often scale back their workforce.

The good news with Kier Starmer's deal with Europe is that the cost of living crisis should get slightly better with energy prices set to reduce and the cost of imports and exports reducing, it should mean supermarket prices are set to come down. However, we are also looking at free movement of people set to return and this means that European citizens, moving over to the UK will also be looking for employment. The UK economy still needs time to recover with companies disappearing from the high street and others in administration. As a nation there are going to be less jobs because businesses cannot afford enough staff and there will be more people requiring jobs.

Poverty will be set to rise if the Labour government continue to hit companies with these extra costs.

The simple fact is that employees and the British economy was better off under a conservative government, over this Labour one.
